I love this man. My mother turned me onto him. I may have already blogged about him, but no matter.

I think Leonardo recently said that he is Leonard Cohan's neighbor. How small the world. When last I looked he (Leonardo, not Leonard) seems to be lighting up your zaadzfriend sidebar. K
I love the interview – arrogance and inexperience and an appetite to say something– “it's not the message”. I love it!!
My friend just lent me a CD of various artists doing the songs from “I'm Your Man”. It's nice. I used it for the song for the slideshow of New York City photographs that I made.
Thanks for giving me something to help me stay awake at home all night. I'm trying to keep my schedule the same for my days off as I do for my workdays since I only have 2 nights off. It's even harder staying up all night at home while I have to be quiet as a mouse when the boys are sleeping. I can't bang around and rearrange the furniture or go into the bedrooms or get the dogs all riled up or dance around noisily like I might in the daytime. it's quiet time. Thanks again. Leonard is nice when you are up all night alone without much purpose.
Leonard is nice, isn't he? such an artist. The film is amazing, too.
Thanks for the post on Leonard, Laura - he's been 'my man' for years!!!
He's my man too though it is strange I can't “watch” music, only listen the seeing someone performing or music video gets some ego thing stuck in my eyes.
i think seeing can get in the way of listening sometimes for me and vice versa. i was just listening to a band called willard grant conspiracy on the way home tonight and they remind me a bit of cohen. y'all might enjoy them.
I love that song dance me to the end of love. I heard if first sung by madeline peyroux. My son gave me a cd of his before that but I really didn't know much of him. I am getting to know him better now. I have a book of his poetry.
Farland— this is funny. at about the same time you were posting that comment about ego getting stuck in your eyes, I was posting this on another blog—–
ps about those above links to songs. i made them so they'll open in a separate window so you can listen to them and still keep reading or surfing or whatever suits you- instead of watching the videos. I'm old school - i like music to be heard and to get my own mental images- not music heard and images provided.
video killed the radio star? (but this one is awfully worth watching?!)
I think maybe - video maimed imagination.
isn't that funny?
a book of his poetry???? I MUST go directly to the library and see if I can find one of those!! any recommendations about which to read first?
Thank you for mentioning him again…..if you already did already….2 good +2 be =4 gotten!
Jenni, I like Madeline Peyroux, too! My daughter is a frustrated “French woman” - born in the US and resonates to everything French! I sent her one of Peyroux's CDs a couple of years ago…
I love Madeleine, too. she sounds so much like Billie Holliday. video killed the radio star! hadn't thought about that song in awhile. I used to hear it on the retro show out of Atlanta sometimes. I think video can sometimes be clever and even beautiful but it stands outside of musical experience for me. it's pretty much incidental. I don't seek it out.
I need to figure out this separate window thing. I think someone told me how to set my music blogs up this way but I forgot.
she is great. I thought she sounded like Billie Holiday as well. I first heard of her, again through one of my sons because of an Elliot Smith song she sang on on of her CDs . jen
